Materials:
Low and medium carbon steel are the most common raw materials used to manufacture a wide range of high-performance screws. If required, custom screws can be manufactured from special metals like alloy steels, aluminum and stainless steel.
Heat Treatment:
Heat treatment changes the metallurgic microstructure of steel to obtain the required mechanical properties. Case hardening and neutral hardening are applied in accordance with DIN ISO 898-1, and for licensed products the respective technical specifications are applied.
Coating:
We offer a wide range of electroplating (galvanic) coatings to protect the screw against corrosion and improve frictional properties for a better performance. Coatings are available in with different color and up to 1000 hours salt spray resistance.
Additionally, we offer organic zinc flake coating, non-electrolytic offering excellent corrosion resistance and preventing hydrogen embrittlement.
Tight Tolerance:
To achieve the tight tolerances required for engineered components, the AFP manufacturing process integrates additional machining operations, including turning, grinding, drilling, and rolling.
